PORTS OF CALL
HERE ARE THE ISLANDS YOU WILL VISIT
RAIATEA: Originally named Havait after the homeland of the ancient Polynesians, Raiatea is the most sacred island in the South Pacific. As the center of religion and culture around 1,000 years ago, legends and myths lend enchantment to Raiatea's azure shoals. The green-carpeted mountains covering the interior include the celebrated Mount Temehani, the Polynesian equivalent to Mount Olympus.
TAHA'A: With the rich aroma of vanilla lingering heavily in the air, Taha'a offers a glimpse of the traditional, tranquil life of the Tahitians. Here the coral reef surrounding the flower-shaped island is crowned with as many as 60 tiny, idyllic motus perched above the north shore. Motus are very small islets, often just a few hundred yards in size. A perfect place to experience the ultimate tranquility of this magic land.
BORA BORA: Romantics from around the world have laid claim to this island where the castle-like Mount Otemanu pierces the sky. Lush tropical slopes and valleys blossom with hibiscus while palm-covered motus circle the lagoon like a delicate necklace. Perfect white-sand beaches give way to emerald waters where impossibly colored fish animate the coral gardens. Plan to be on deck as we approach and/or depart from Bora Bora. Your thought is sure to be "Bali Hai is calling".
MOOREA: Soaring magically out of the ocean in an explosion of green velvet, Moorea is what you would imagine a South Seas island to be. A wide, shallow lagoon surrounds the island's vertical mountains, peaceful meadows and cool waterfalls. Steep fields of pineapples and vanilla will fill your senses and renew your belief in the majesty of nature. Pastel-painted houses, surrounded by gardens of hyacinth and birds of paradise, circle the island in a fantacy of happy, yet simple, architecture. Our view in from beautiful Cooks Bay is a sight of tranquel beauty that provides the very best perspective of the island.
